Welcome to Espanola Regional Hydro

We aim to be the "best in the class" in energy delivery to our customers who are located within the Towns of Espanola, Massey and Webbwood. We commit to maintaining our distribution services in the best possible condition so that when, within our control, we can provide our customers with a safe and reliable source of electricity. We are guided by the principles contained in our Code of Business Conduct. We respond to trouble calls within just a few short minutes from our service centre located within our service area. We value our Shareholders decisions to amalgamate the former Espanola Hydro and Sables-Spanish Rivers P.U.C. for the benefit of all electrical customers in the service area.

Espanola Regional Hydro has updated its conditions of service effective September 2021 with an implementation date of November 1, 2021. Below you will find a clean version and highlighted version of the new document outlining the changes. Changes to Industrial & Commercial electricity costs Effective January 1, 2021

Ontario deferred a portion of Global Adjustment (GA) between April and June 2020 by limiting the Class B GA rate to $115/MWh for non-Regulated Price Plan (RPP) customers and providing proportionate reductions for Class A customers. The deferred costs were intended to be recovered over a 12-month period beginning in January 2021.

Ontario has now made amendments to O. Reg. 429/04, effective January 1, 2021, to enable the recovery of those deferred GA costs. Starting in January 2021, Class A and non-RPP Class B customers will repay the deferral costs over 12 months. RPP consumers are not affected by these changes. These regulatory amendments can be found at www.ontario.ca/laws/regulation/r20772.




As an essential service provider in the community, Espanola Regional Hydro (ERH) wants to assure its customers and the general public that it is prepared to deliver safe and reliable electricity services throughout the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

For the protection of the general public, we will be temporarily restricting access to our Espanola office building located at 598 Second Avenue. ERH is asking any visitors, including customers, contractors and suppliers to interact via phone, e-mail or other online options on www.erhydro.com   until further notice.
